Christmas Miscellany

These are the little toys that so many of the Christmas Market stands of Germany used to carry - many of our customers remember the same designs from pre-war childhood. They are still being made by the same families in the same village in the mountainous Erzgebirge region of Germany.

Father Christmas and his Train - looks wonderful on the Christmas Cake or the mantlepiece.

Angel and Miner candle holder - the figures are approximately 3 cm high the whole thing is 15cm long.
The Miner appears on many Seiffen objects, as several generations back, the current toymakers were also miners and the angel was their symbol of hope.

This tiny couple live in this delightful little chipwood box. The Angel measures approx 2inches toe to wingtip.

Like Father Christmas they look well on a Christmas Cake, and make a change from a plastic robin and two shrivelled holly leaves!

Musical Box, the tree revolves and it plays a tune, sometimes Tannenbaum, sometimes O du Froliche
